I considered transcribing the entire 30 minute conversation between
Larry Wachowski and Ken Wilbur at intergralnaked.org, then thought
better of it, as I like to at least maintain the pretence of Having A
Life. But I thought I'd post two brief but interesting things that Larry
said about the beginnings of the films, which reminded me in particular
of some of Melloccino's theories. He (Larry, not Melloccino) has a
tendency to say "kind of" and "sort of" a lot, and I've left those out:
**
"The beginnings - the little tiny introductions to each film have a
reflection of what each movie is about. In those little tiny prefaces to
each film we tell the audience where we are in the journey of
development. I mean, if the Matrix is an exploration of consciousness,
the little tiny bits and pieces at the beginning of each of the films
tries to help you map it out a little bit."
"At the beginning of the third movie we were like 'how do we start the
third movie, which is gonna talk about the things that are so hard to
talk about?'. So, okay, you're gonna go to black and you have to have a
moment of Big Bang - that's the origin of everything, the origin of
thought, the origin of consciousness, whatever it is in that moment.
It's like from nothing to everything is... everything!"
**
Less profoundly, I'd like you all to pray with me that Ken Wilbur reins
in his rather loud and scary laugh during the forthcoming commentaries.
