Since it seems that we three are the current group, this question is
for Furgal & Steve.

Have you seen "Sabotage" and would you be interested in talking about
this film?

The first time that I saw this film, it was a real thrill.

Rich

Some of us are lurking and reading, but don't have the time to view,
critique and post. But don't let us interrupt ... you three are doing
great.

I have it on DVD, so no, I wouldn't mind.

Yes, I got a private e-mail about the eggs and police as poulet from another
lurker as a confirmation of the info. There's some more info he included, so
I wanted to take a look at that as well...

Since this marks the beginning of the Easter Season, I'm in the
middle of looking at another favorite of mine (Ben-Hur, 1927). There is
so much action and so many camera cuts that it's still just about the
most action packed film (at least for the first 90 minutes) that I've
ever seen and it's all done without computers or miniatures (at least
not the miniatures that we usually think of). After the first hour,
I've only got through the Roman battle ships~vs~the pirates so far.
Knowing how much trouble they went through to make this original
silent classic, I really appreciate that they still did it right when
they finally edited it together.
After this, I should have gotten the egg off of my face (Yes, "TCAT"
was very much about chickens) and by this coming Wednesday, we can look
at a film that really excited me the first time that I saw it.

I reply:
Yes and yes. I love that film, I think its one of his most interesting
early (well, middle-career really, I guess) English films.

I'm with you there Mike - I'm an avid lurker and reader, but I don't always
have time to comment or initiate a post.

BTW, I'm currently in the midst of a chonological viewing of all movies in
my Hitchcock collection. The last film finished was Saboteur. Following
each film, I watch the DVD's supplemental material and also re-visit
references to the film in each of my several Hitchcock books to complete
the film experience. I'm really enjoying the process and it's quite
interesting to see Hitch's growth and development throughout his career.
