I'm asking just what the subject title states. William J. Bowman was
in motion pictures from 1910-c1923 first as an actor, then as a
director. worked for Transhouser, American, Vitagraph, Metro,
Universal, etc.
I ask because his father plays an interesting part in research I
am doing.
The director's "real" name was "George William J. Bowman" - Born
1884 in NC , family moved to California before 1900, and he started
his acting career by that time. He was in San Diego county by 1930 -
and that is where he died in 1960.

thanks

If you haven't seen it, there is an entry for him in the 1921 Studio
