Easier than going through the whole "The One" mumbo-jumbo, and re-populating
Zion every couple hundred years or so.

You've missed the point. Rewatch Reloaded and Revolutions and pay attention
this time. You'll realize that there is a purpose to the "The One"
mumbo-jumbo as you've called it.

I have watched it. The whole "the one" and the "repopulating Zion" thing
was cute for the movie, but I would've been a much more difficult thing to
do than to simply kill off troublemakers. If YOU go back and listen to the
architect's monologue, my question is a pretty valid one, although it
wouldn't make for much of a movie.

I will be writing a paper on the reasons why the architect does what he
does, also why there is an anomolie such as neo and why there 'must' be a
zion....... Its not just to make the movie nice, I believe the brothers were
trying to get a point across, a point of 'belief' that the powers that be
believe in.

Once again, whatever you come up with will be speculative mumbo-jumbo.
That's fine, by the way. Just don't imply that whatever you might write is
canon in any way. It won't be.

Since you seemingly have watched it again and still don't get the point I'll
try and put it simple.
"The One" and "Repopulating Zion" is necessary to Reload the Matrix. If they
killed the troublemakers, which would have been much easier of course, they
wouldn't have the subconscious "option", incarnated in Neo's "choice" of the
correct door, which would cause the Reload to fail and the Matrix would
collapse. In the end of Revolutions it was proven that it wasn't really
necessary to do so, since Neo chose the 'other door' and still the Reload
was successful, but as you could probably understand from the dialogue
between the Oracle and the Architect, that was a risky move and there were
no guarantees that it wouldn't cause the Matrix to collapse, as opposed to
the Architect's way of solving the problem (which was the "The One"
mumbo-jumbo).
Repopulating Zion was the only way the Architect had devised to guarantee
the stability of the system, by causing the subconscious illusion of
"choice" through Neo's option, and that is why it was thought necessary by
the Architect, until of course he was proved wrong.

Blah, Blah, Blah.......
First off, I can't believe I'm having a matter-of-fact debate on the science
of the MATRIX universe.
Tell me when they tried it MY (the easier) way, and failed. You
acknowledged yourself that the ONE time they DIDN'T do it the "preferred"
way, all was well.

You seem to have a weak understanding of the matrix movies. I encourage you to
not post any further since that would carry the risk of you exposing lack of
such understanding further.

Meanwhile, teletubbies is an easy-to-access form of entertainment that may
suite you better.

Ahhh. Ad Hominem attack. Nice. If you're not interested in a healthy
debate, just say so (I can only assume that you AREN'T interested in a
healthy debate, since you haven't refuted anything I've said).

By the way, It appears that if I stopped posting, there wouldn't be much
going on in this group at all.

I think if not many people are taking part in this thread is because
you are exhibiting such an ignorance about the Matrix movies that they
do not feel it is worthwhile to educate you.
Looking at your first message, my perception is that you haven't even
seen the movies but have a feeling of the story just by reading some
threads in this group.
If you have really seen the movies, you must remember these words -
"the entire crop was lost"
Now - tell us what you understand by those words and why should the
machines be bothered by that.

I believe the CORRECT quote was"....entire crops were lost.", not "the
entire crop was lost". Anyway.......

It seems like a TON of work to orchestrate the whole "the one" thing. Like
I've said before, it might be much easier if Zion were destroyed completely
and NOT repopulated. Then, the people who wanted out of the matrix could be
"led out" by programs posing as humans. When they're out, they're killed.
Nice, easy, and MUCH less hassle than devoting several hundred thousand
sentinals to a raid on Zion every couple hundred years.

By the way, I think few people are taking part in this thread because nobody
has been able to refute anything I've said. The only responses I've seen to
my posts have been along the lines of "You don't understand", or "You
missed the point". While provocative, these comments HARDLY constitute a
"counter-point" to my "point".

Once again, I welcome somebody to join the debate with something valid.

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

You're either trying to troll this newsgroup (and this is the case I'm
placing my bets on) or you haven't understood anything of what happened in
Reloaded/Revolutions (which isn't rare either since lots of people haven't
understood it, since they expected a silly Vin Diesel movie lookalike they
had their brains switched off).
I won't try to debate this any further since you obviously don't really care
about other people's opinions or what they tell you. You're keeping to your
distroted version of the movies and there's no way of making you understand
them. You're not the first of this kind in this newsgroup and I have the
feeling you won't be the last. If you really want to understand what the
"The One mumbo-jumbo" is all about please rewatch the movies and pay some
attention. I believe rewatching Reloaded only will make you understand but
it's better you rewatch the three of them just in case. If you want to keep
to your self-proclaimed best vision of the World then don't bother posting.
