What are your 3 personal favorite David Lynch films made so far and
please state why, for each one. I thought this would've been
discussed, but I did a search and it doesn't seem like it has been for
a while.

Interestingly enough (well, to me anyway), my favorite three Lynch films
are the last three he's made.........

"Mulholland Dr." - similar (but not the same) fascinating expressive
means as "Lost Highway", but with much more heart (or, the viewer is
perhaps more likely to emphatize with the lead character)

"The Straight Story" - contains almost all of the Lynchian elements of
style and thematic content (yes, it does!), yet does so in the most
profoundly simple and moving way

"Lost Highway" - amazing film that opens all kinds of doors - nothing
quite like it before or since - a masterpiece, IMO

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me - Lynch's most real and emotional film, and
also his most abstract. It keeps getting better every time I watch it.

Mulholland Drive - Mindblowing, decoding the plot is great fun, but it's the
emotional scenes, like Club Silencio that really make it worth watching. In
many ways, it's a combination of everything Lynch has done to date, into one
great film.

Lost Highway - A precursor to MD, and a great film in its own right. This
needs to be released on region 1 DVD.

But, my favorite Lynch-directed thing of all is the last episode of Twin
Peaks, completely mind blowing, I was left stunned for five minutes, just
sitting there, after watching it the first time.
