In no particular order:
1) Herb & Dan at Wienke's
2) the "espresso" scene at the studio offices
3) the dinner scene where Diane finally loses it
Not sure why these scenes strike me in such a way, but
the one thing they have in common is that they are all
emotionally charged. Fear, power, loathing, hate.
Pure art. >> Stay informed about: favorite scenes - Mulholland Drive |

For me, Club Silencio. It's just pure Lynch, and in many ways the summation
of every thing he's done to date, incorporating elements of Blue Velvet,
Twin Peaks and Lost Highway, and making it into something beautifully new.

I was so disappointed with this film the first time I saw it. It seemed
drab, disjointed, confusing and a complete con job. I renounced Lynch
and all he stood for forever. Of course, now I think it is a masterwork.
Now I watch it and every scene is filled with power and mystique. All
the scenes I didn't like the first time I now love.
Other less obvious scenes I like - anything with Coco. The director and
his secretary. The coffee spitting scene. In fact the whole damn movie. >> Stay informed about: favorite scenes - Mulholland Drive |

I am absolutely with you on that; you have actually perfectly put into words
how I felt then and how I feel now.
Anyway, I also like Herb & Ben. Those two guys just don't belong together!
And Herb isn't an analyst, as I at first thought, because analysts don't
immediately dismiss your dreams.
I also like the small bit with the vacuum-cleaner guy. He shows why it is he
is JUST a vacuum-cleaner guy.
The scene with the cowboy. Justin Theroux really is a good actor. What a
talented family!

I saw it first on DVD - I actually stood up at the end and screamed
"F*ck you David Lynch". Hilarious.
Glad I could help you with your expression. ;-) >> Stay informed about: favorite scenes - Mulholland Drive |

Has anyone considered it as a dream-inside-a-dream sequence? In fact just
before and right after the whole scene we see "Rita" respectively falling
asleep and then waking up in Aunt Ruth's house. And Dan is talking about a
dream, so we could have a chinese box-like situation:
Diane dreaming "Rita" > "Rita" dreaming Dan > Dan talking about his
about-to-come-true dreams...
bye
