Chaplin on TCM tonight - Starts @8:00 pm runs until 6:15 am. Looks like it shows each of the four recent Warner DVD films (not sure which version of Gold Rush) preceded by a of each film. Bruce
White Chaplin DVD Box - I was at Best Buy tonight, and noticed that Madacy has two of their Chaplin DVD's in a box set, and guess what- they're in white boxes that look similar to the new ones from Warner Home Video. Does this mean every Chaplin DVD..

It's nothing more absurd than any of his previous statements, of
course, but don't you think you're being a bit cruel to the

If there's a ranting madman on the street, one either avoids his
proximity or ignores him.
One certainly doesn't engage and treat his idiotic and preposterous
pronouncements as though they bore any resemblance to rational
discourse - it only gives the poor fellow false hope and encourages
him.

For the 800th time, George, I did *not* hijack this thread to make a
political statement. I don't care for CB's politics, but that is
extraneous from his work as a director. We've been through this
before. I despise John Wayne and Ward Bond's politics, but I like both
of them in films and enjoy much of their screen work.
I'm amazed you still cling to the wan hope that Robinson was well cast
as Dathan and that CB wouldn't have been more suitable. I'm equally
amazed that you think Chaplin could have (or would have) worked for
Huston or any other director except himself.
Imagine Huston doing 2,000 takes of some silly scene in the arc. "No,
Charlie, don't extend your hand in that fashion when the dove returns,
be more forceful with your hand movement!"..... Chaplin wouldn't have
put up with someone else directing him when he was 30, much less at

It doesn't matter whether you did or not. You gave Shelps an opening,
and that's what matters -- to him, anyway.
