Going to the Cinecon dealers rooms I noticed so many of the collectors
and dealers are SO FAT! I mean, really people just a little exercise
and proper diet is needed. Get off your chubby butts watching those
silent movies and go for a walk--and stay away from the bakeries!
Also, the smell of BO from some of these fatties isn't all that
appealing. It was a hot weekend, and your smelly odor caused the
glamorous one a bit of nausea. Yucks.
Apart from that it was an enjoable weekend. First, my entrance caused
a near panic as my glittering red sequin gown sparkled for attention.
After I entertained the crowds by the volunteer tables with my top-
notch imitation of Guy Kibbee I ventured around the collectable
tables. Most of the dealers were fairly freindly except that one witch
at the Kino table. Then again, when one looks like Leo White as the
gypsie Hag from THE VAGABOND we expect such unpleasent attitudes.
Few of the dealers looked as ancient as the worn out lobby cards and
posters they were selling. But I was there to be seen, not buy. After
my many admirers gathered around for photo opportunities, handshakes
and autographs I left with my entourage for an evening of fun at Musso
Franks.

Your bone-headed attempt at satire might be marginally amusing were it
not so horribly mean-spirited. Jessica Rosner does far more for
classic films in one hour than you will ever do in your pathetic,
miserable life. Do humanity a favor and go stand in the middle of the
freeway at 3:AM.

Very flattering on how you are so obsessed with me. Have nothing else
to do with your time? Your boring posts are so much fun to read. It's
a pleasure wasting my time reading them. >> Stay informed about: A *glamorous* take on Cinecon 43 |

Spamming the newsgroup? About what? Her posts are always on-topic, and she
provides valuable information about Kino DVD releases and showings. These
kinds of personal attacks are the main reason why so many regular posters
have abandoned this newsgroup. Heck, Rodney even dropped the
"alt.movies.silent" from the title of the 2008 calendar, probably because so
many of the contributors and buyers won't have anything to do with this
newsgroup anymore.

I disagree. Many of the regular posters who have abandoned the
newsgroup felt perfectly free to make personal attacks on others, but
for some reason were shocked and outraged when they were attacked in turn.
Part of the psychology of the clique is that it can't imagine that
others don't want to be part of it and won't play by its rules, which
makes it hard for a clique to survive in the rough and tumble
interchange of a public forum.
Cliques need to be closed and intolerant to survive, which is possible
on a moderated forum like Golden Silents but not on a group like this.

Since she's a Kino salesperson, this also
qualifies as spam. >> Stay informed about: A *glamorous* take on Cinecon 43 |

Amen, Lloyd.
The "regulars" here do not have clean hands when it comes to gratuitous
personal attacks. For example, Ms
Rosner once jumped on me for no good
reason---which is why I enjoyed the
black humor of Miss Glamour's post
But it is also factually true that Rosner
promotes her company's products on
this group. >> Stay informed about: A *glamorous* take on Cinecon 43 |

Yeah, I'm mystified by any attack on Ms. Rosner for posting about Kino
DVDs. People are always pestering her for info about upcoming silent
releases on ams. And that's part of what this newsgroup is for: When
Jessica or Dennis Doros or David Shepard or the reelclassic dvd guy or
Laughingsmith etc. have announced upcoming releases for their
respective companies over the years, most people have been grateful.
And I don't see how it's spam because it's info 99 percent of us want.
