In Dec 2005, both Miss Glamour and Frippery were outed by someone else
in this group:
<<Miss Glamour, Super Stupid, Countess blah blah blah are all the
gentlemen who posts under the alias Mister Levity. Good job, Levity.
You get the troll-of-the-year award. >>
<<And Dwight Frippery? None other than (DUH DUH DUH)..... George
Shelps.
Not very well hidden, either. Perhaps Frippo should have changed
services from WebTV, who not only gave away his IP, but put his
settings at an unusually low letter-per-line count that it was
painfully obvious after about three second. Not sure who The Real
Dwight Frippery is, although he's obviously someone with about as
little tolerance for this nonsense as I am.>>

um I literally missed this whole thing. Been a little busy watching
the Cubs lose.
I am amazed that Miss Glamour even ran into me given the relatively
small time
I actually spent at the Kino table ( too busy watching movies etc).
Anyway I appreciate
the support. I will continue to give updates on Kino silent stuff and
if you don't want it
feel free to put me in one of those kill files.
One thing worth mentioning is that DIE PUPPE which a lot of you
complained was
not in the first batch of Lubitsch films will be released in early
December with a German
produced doc on Lubitsch ( same disc).
This note of commercial spam will undoubtedly lead to thousands of
sales and those
huge profits we get on silent films.

This is great news. If you've only seen The Oyster Princess, you'll

I will admit I am flabbergasted. I knew from other posters that
George had at least a second identity around here, but not that
many fakes, and not those particular fakes (other than Dwight --
the locution was a giveaway).
I take my hat off to you, George (or whatever your real name
is). You are truly a master of disguises and a talented
ventriloquist.
You can take the dress off now, and give it back to your good
friend Mrs. Kubrick.

I have a feeling "Miss Glamour" wasn't even at Cinecon, and if s/he was,
most certainly exaggerated things or made them up out of whole cloth.
Count me as one of the people who appreciates the updates, it's one of the
few reasons I still read the newsgroup.

Congratulations!
I am in the process of setting up
a silent film memorabilia venture.

I doubt if too many people would be deeply offended -- there are posts
here all the time which point to silent film related items being sold on
eBay -- and I don't think you'd be offended by the Kino announcements if
you didn't have a beef with the messenger.
Honestly, if Kevin Brownlow sent in a post announcing the imminent
release of his Hollywood series on DVD, would you consider that an abuse
of the non-commercial nature of the group -- an example of spam?
I'm thrilled that "Die Puppe" is coming out on DVD, glad to know about
it and entirely unconcerned with who posts the information.

You'd be wrong, Her posts have always
annoyed ms---even before she snarked me that one time.

No, because it would be a one-time
thing whereas Rosner does it incessantly

Corporations are only dangerous when they become so powerful that they
own and control the machinery of government. Kino has a ways to go in
that line.
