Hi,

Are there any good labs in the US that would process Super8 films
other than Kodachrome with good quality / turnaround / price?

Would appreciate any recommendations

I use Yale film and Video in Hollywood. They are only a 30 minute drive for me
here in California so I have personally used their services and seen their
facility. They process all black and white super 8 films as well as Ektachrone
7240 color and even the old E160 Ektachome (they procell it on the last
Wedensday of each month.) They also process negative too.
www.yalefilmandvideo.com I am surprised that there is nothing available in NY.

Thanks, Richard, for this info - it really helps! I am not saying
nothing is available in NY (I rather hope something is) - I just don't
know and so, am asking here. I particularly would like to process
Ektachrome and also Kodak's Super8 Vision (200ASA) color negative.

There are actually 2 Super8 labs in NYC.
Pac Lab is famous for its great B&W processing.
You can even get same day service at no extra cost.
I also like that they have a slot in the door for night-time
drop-offs. That has saved me many times!

Another option is
A-1 Reversal Lab, in midtown.
They run B&W and Ektachrome several times a week, but
not necessarily everyday.
I've had good experiences at both places.
I think A1 might be a little cheaper.
A1 gives a discount if you pay cash.

I don't like Yale in LA because they have content restrictions. I'm
not interested in supporting a censorious company whose policies are
influenced by their relgious zealotry.

Good luck with the NY labs!

I completely forgot about that. They do have a censoring policy and I remember
being asked at the counter once what was on my my film. I don't film anything
that would offend them so there is no problem for me but many others have
content on their film that would offend.

Stephen: Thank you so much for the info! It is very useful.

Anyone: Have you had any experience shooting Kodak Vision 200T Super8?
I would like to know how it compares, grain wise, to the following
films:
Kodachrome 40
Ektachrome 160
Pro8/45-50 ASA Daylight-EXR™
Pro8/48-100 ASA Tungsten-EXR™
