It was two separate hospitalizations.

Happy now?

Well, you seem to have gotten back into the swim of quoting him, Richard.

A little self-control on your part might make things around here ever so much
more enjoyable, since George never posts anything worth reading anyway.

How about it? Pretty please? :)

Steven and Richard, I WISH I had orginated the parenthetical comment.
In truth I pulled an "Uncle Miltie" and stole it from some now
forgotten person on an AOL message board. I thought it looked rather
clever so I picked it up.

But perhaps I should trademark "Chaplin Chick"? ;-)

Whoever said Chaplin was least adorable in "KINY" needs eye surgery or
possibly some therapy. Though he had put on weight and couldn't be as
physically appealing at 66 and he was at 26, his scenes with Dawn
Addams show he still had "it" in spades. There was an attractiveness
about Chaplin in "Limelight" and "KINY" that resonates as deeply as his
boyish appeal as the Tramp in the Essanay period.

He also maintained a certain comic style late in life, a certain grace and
presence, that is obvious, at least to me. I always thought that while A
King in New York is a lesser Chaplin, it is not a lesser film. It does not
compare to The Circus, City Lights, Modern Times, et. al., but then nothing
does.

Oh yeah, I'd shtup King Shadov or Calvero any day of the week! ;-)

IMO Charlie was good looking till he put on too much weight, which is
only visible in Countess from Hong Kong (and he still looks like a cute
little white haired elf). He still had "It" in Limelight and KINY,
however....

Leslie (who also thinks Elinor Glynn should have named Charlie "The IT
Boy" as he was much better looking than many of the leading men of the
'20s)
