Please help name this film/movie?

I am sure I watched a movie in the last few years that was set in a bleak
darkened city that rearranged itself periodically in a pretty surreal way
( a bit like Hogwarts)? Some sort of psyco-fantasy thing shown late at
night.

That, or I have imagined/dreamt this - and unwittingly revealed to pub
friends that I am bonkers... :)

That's easy - Dark City. Worth watching sober as well.

When Dark City was first described to me, I thought I'd already seen it
- I remembered seeing something years before that took place at night
where everyone fell to sleep except one guy, but the scene I remembered
took place on or near a bus - with the guy freaking-out because everyone
else had dropped-off simultaneously. That doesn't happen in Dark City,
so I must've seen something else.

Any idea what?
