Hi all. for the first time last week, i used my zaxcom rx900s receiver
with internal batteries and found that the batteries i was using were
too wide to be removed from the receiver easily. after a bit of
rummaging i found some old sony rechargeables that fit fine, and the
procell alkalines i have are ok. but ive been using ansmann 2700mah
nimh rechargeables for the transmitters, and assumed (now i see where
i went wrong) that AA batteries were all a standardised size and would
therefore fit without issue, but that half a millimetre difference
makes quite alot of difference.
so i was hoping that other users would be able to tell me what
rechargeable AA batteries they have found that fit in the zaxcom
receiver. (and if they are cheap, reliable and available in the uk,
that would be super nice too)
thanks
rich

I read somewhere that you can use an exacto and remove the plastic
wrap around the battery on some brands... actually, just a kind of
"shrink plastic" used to put the name of the brand on some metal cell
used by a different companies...

I wouldn't recommend that. If you expose the metal jacket you can
creat a short. When you get a chance send the receiver back to
Zaxcom. They can shave the center post that divides the batteries to
make the compartment more tolerant. I use AA Lithiums and when they
die they expand and I've had one get stuck. loosening the case screws
half a turn lets the battery drop out, but it's a pain in the ass.

Yep, should have read the manual before answering; it's mentionned.
