Hi all,
I'm in the first couple of weeks of testing my 14 ipower 9 volt
rechargable batteries. A few observations that some may find
interesting:
- recharge time between 15-30min depending on duration battery has
been on
- twice I have get no reading at all on two different batteries (I've
numbered them all) - I haven't been able to repeat this but I suspect
it was just run down until dead
- I find they give me about 5 hours for both R1a Lectro IFB Receivers
and 205c Lectro Transmitters.
I get my boom op to test voltage levels at start of each day and at
lunch to lesson any surprises!
cheers,
Ande

Hi Ande,
If the battery is fully discharged (dead) the internal protection
circuitry disconnects the terminals from the battery cells and you
will indeed get no reading. If the battery didn't disconnect itself,
any further discharge would destroy the cells, hence the protection.
Thanks for the input.

I'm getting all day with my R1's (same for Comteks). I try to turn
them off at lunch.

Hey Larry - any ideas how to reconnect the battery cells to the
terminals.
I have had two (out of 15) iPower 9v batts that have failed completely
after only a few weeks. I could get power neither into or out of
them.
Any ideas? Might my cells have permanently disconnected?
Kindest,

Hi Simon,
No power in or out, could be almost any of the components, or the
cells.
When 2 fail the same way at the same time it usually spells external
trama.
If you can, please make the dealer aware of your circumstance when you
return them,
And we will find out what happened.
Thanks,
Richard >> Stay informed about: ipower 9v observations |

Hi Simon,
I sure don't. That's not a failure I've run into. If the internal
cells get really low on voltage they are permanently damaged. I don't
know if the internal circuit disconnects them then or not. If it did,
there would be no way to recover the battery and it wouldn't be
recoverable anyway. Maybe Richard at iPower has some input. He keeps
an eye on the group.
