Going through some info sent to me as I gather info on Chaplin's Essanay
period, and I discovered that the Juvenile Film Corporation did a movie in
1916 called Chip's Carmen which satirized Chaplin's Burlesque on Carmen.
This was a two reeler directed by James A. FitzPatrick (yeah, the travelogue
guy), and starred Joseph and Janethel Monahan -- two children playing the
male and female leads. The movie has the kids attending a screening of
Chaplin's Burlesque on Carmen, when Joseph falls asleep and dreams him and
his sister in their own parody. The review states: "Josheph Monahan's Bon
Doze is an excellent imitation of the Darn Hosiery of Chaplin.
After searching the internet I found no information on this film, only two
films on imdb as having been produced by the Juvenile Film Corporation,
nothing in FitzPatrick's filmography, no listing for Janethel, but a listing
for Joseph Monahan offering only one credit (and no death date, although he
is listed as having been born in 1907).
Does anyone know anything about this film?
thanks in advance,

Sorry, can't help you with that. However, I don't know if you know about it
or not, but the Our Gang kids did a short where several of the kids dressed
up as and did impersonations of the leading silents stars. It was pretty
funny. I don't recall the title, but I can find it if you would like.

There's also a Mickey McGuire like that, where young Mickey Rooney gets to
do some impersonations.
