Kodak is supplying Wittner with KMA40 perfed as S8. It is my understanding
that Wittner then applies the sound stripe. So, it isn't exactly Kodak
that is producing sound film but they are cooperating with Wittner to make
it available.

To use the 200ft roll from wittner you need a modified beaulieu and
special magazine
To use the 1000 ft spool you are going to have a lot of fun figuring
out how tyo get it to run in your camera and subsequently processed

I wonder:

Is the magnetic substrate applied by Wittner directly to film base, or
does it have its own plastic base (how thick?) that is glued to the film?

Is there a balance stripe (like on "real" sound films) to compensate for
the thickness of the sound stripe?

The soundstripe is an Agfa F5 stripe cemented on.

The 1000ft & 200ft is main striped only. Not balance striped.
