Hi Guys,
may be a stupid question, I have to buy a coupe of radio mic,
I' m thinking about the Audio.
But I know that lot of you are using Lectro. And nobody id unhappy.
In the past I used the 195series with very good result.
the question is:
with the 4oo digital do I have delay respect the boom?
The sampling, and the decoding can give any delay?

thanks a lot in advance...

Stefano.

Rome, Italy.

Stefano,
The audio latency of Lectro 411's is about 3ms. It is the time
equivalent of about 3 feet. If an actor is wearing a wire and you're
mixing with a boom then the actor's mic is being time corrected to
bring it 3 feet closer to the boom. This is an advantage. If you're
running the boom on a 411 then it is relatively 3 feet further away.
Still not at a problem but you may notice the effect.
The audio fidelity of the 411's in every aspect is an advantage. I
will mention that although the range of the 411's is superb, when it
misses it will dropout entirely which can be a little surprising when
it happens.
The biggest problem I've discovered is proximity of walkie talkies
which affects all radios, and even worse is GSM cellphones which create
a chatter.
Overall I'd say you're working with primo equipment and little to fear.
MW

Unless you use different radio's in one scene, let's say a few Audio
Ltd's and a 400 series.
That *can* deliver some unwanted phasing..
