I run a ProTools post studio and am looking at doing some location
recording for inclusion in some audio-only content that I am planning.
I have a Marantz PMD670 recorder (uses CF cards to record to) and will
be recording 44.1kHz WAV files. I have a AT825 for generic ambience
recording and a pair of AKG clip on microphones for sit-down
interviews. I am thinking about a stereo shotgun microphone - any
advice? Is the Sennheiser MKH418S worth it? Any advice on how to
handle the shotgun microphone if it's not as a boom mic - can it be
handheld or should I get some kind of shock mount?

Is there something else that I should get for this basic field
recording kit?

Thank you in advance for all advice / recommendations.
