Post subject: 5 pins cameras audio out as monitor return : wiring?
Archived from groups: rec>arts>movies>production>sound (more info?)

how is the wiring of the 5 pins XLR audio out in the back of a lot of
cameras today :
I guess ground on 1, right + and - on 2 and 3 respectively, left + and
- 4 and 5, is that correct ?

how to wire from that connector to a monitor return on a courant field
mixer ? balanced to unbalanced, do you solder the - to ground, on the
two ends, on one end only, and what end ?

I don't have a camera at hand presently, but would like to make a
pigtail using the 5 pins as monitor return. The breakaway connector is
7 pins XLR, thus allowing only unbalanced return (and common ground for
everything)

thanks to you all, have a very good and profitable year
