Well then my prayers that he does in fact direct A5 will nullify at least
yours. :) How many does that leave?

Wow,and i thought i was the only pleb on this
scummy dirt-ball who hates ALIENS!.
James 'Piranha 2' Cameron took the dark and mysterious beauty of the
A L I E N movie and turned it into a mindless shoot-em-up...J.C.What a
Fartknocker.
2nd Greatest movie ever made...Beavis and Butthead do America.
B-B...Felicity Kendal kicks ass. >> Stay informed about: Hello all new posters... |

mostly lurked for the last few months, then thought i'd share some
quadrilogy info just in case it hadn't made it here yet. the ng was so dead
for so long i wasn't sure if *anyone* really kept up...so essentially i came
aboard with the intent of info sharing...
/me dons flame suit - i'm a big fan of alien 3, super excited for the
upcoming extended cut. i won't use the term "directors cut" since i'm not
convinced that fincher really had any input on it nor have i read anything
official that he did. alien resurrection was a beautiful film visually but
i really didn't like the story and the aliens themselves (design) were weak.
h.r. gigers beautiful vision was destroyed... alien rules. aliens was fun.
if a 5th film emerges i want ridley at the helm, with o'bannon and shusett
writing, h.r. giger back designing the alien(s) and james cameron sitting at
home...and of course sigourney kicking ass.

I don;t *hate* it so much as I really dislike Jimmy's Ants....
and the whole *Queen* idea.

:
: The fans aren't to blame for the poor script, acting and production of
: "Alien: Resurrection".
:
: If that were the case, then you would be just as guilty as everyone else
on
: this newsgroup for having seen it yourself.
:
: To give the fans the benefit of the doubt, I suspect that they were all
: hoping they were going to see a worthwhile film.
:
: Or, if nothing else, they simply wanted to satisfy their curiosity on how
: the writers, actors and producers were going to pull off RIPLEY'S
: 'resurrection'.
:
: Speaking for myself, I've only seen "Alien", "Aliens" and "Alien^3".
:
: The only reason I'm familiar with what transpires in "Alien: Resurrection"
: is by having read about it from a variety of different sources.
:
: If I still decide to watch the film, then I will borrow a copy from my
local
: library at no charge; I suppose that might be one way I could avoid being
: accused of supporting the market for flawed films.
:
: Incidentally, those involved with the making of "Alien: Resurrection" went
: ahead with production of the film before it was even released.
:
: Thus, it wouldn't have even mattered one way or another if anyone on this
: newsgroup had paid their hard-earned $12.00 to see it.
Wow, you're a genius.
Fox knows that more people will come to see an Aliens movie if it's got
Ripley in it. A sizeable portion of the audience for any Aliens movie is
gonna be composed of people who looked at the ads in the paper, saw
Sigourney Weaver's head, and said "I saw the last one, Sigourney Weaver's
back.. I'll see this one too I guess." These are the idiots I refer to.
I am not one of those people. I will see an Alien movie no matter who stars
in it. I would rather the other half, the "idiots" who don't care about the
aliens so much, and are seeing the movie because it's the new thing this
month with a star they've seen on Entertainment Tonight, stay away. That way
the franchise either dies, or they decide Sigourney Weaver is not a draw,
and so try something else.
I'll see any Alien movie, even if it has Ripley in it. I'd just rather it
didn't at this point. I had no objection to Ripley being in Resurrection,
until I saw what they did with her character.
Do you people honestly go to see "Sigourney Weaver kicking ass!" or do you
go because you like sci-fi, Giger's designs, the high-level art direction,
etc.. ?
Rent the movie and turn it off with twenty minutes left, you cheap bastard.
It's a pretty decent flick up until that point. >> Stay informed about: Hello all new posters... |

You really shouldn't *pan* something you've never seen...
