Should I read Big Fish before seeing the movie?
Will my expectations be too high to the point of being disappointed with the
movie?

It's hard to say. I've read it, and thought it was okay. I have a
really hard time picturing it as a Tim Burton movie, though. For
some reason I felt it was more suited to Frank Darabont's
sensibilities than Burton's. It'll be interesting to see what
he has done with it.
