With all the extremely lazy horror film remakes being regularly made
for a quick buck, how do currently view the state of the horror film
industry and if you've read any good articles online appraising
(either positively, negatively, or a bit of both) the current state of
the horror film industry, please offer a link.
If there's things you like / dislike about the current state of the
horror film industry, please elaborate on what screen writers,
directors working in horror today, you regard as the best, most
interesting talents and which ones you regard as the worst and / or
most overrated hack writers and hack horror genre directors working in
horror movies today. |

As most of what passes for horror presently seems to be in the main
depictions of vivisection, I'd have to regard the horror film industry
as a harbor for those happy to make a profit from armchair sadists and
sick, severely maladjusted viewers. That such an enterprise is in any
way lucrative is both disheartening and frightening, but does in part

It's pretty good, except for some big budget PG-13 pieces of CRAP.

Well, I like my graphic stuff, but in many ways you're right. The
violence should never be the reason for the film, it should be in service
to the plot. Sadly, most of the recent horror seems to bve presenting
violence for the sake of violence. I don't think it's sick or perverted,
just sad in its lack of imagination and creativity.
