Amen to that. While this film looks good, it is just horrible. Hardly
anything redeeming about it. The clones scene was great until that idiot had
to comment on it.

I think they were supposed to be concerned over what would happen if the aliens
got loose down there. Remember what Cole said? "This will make the Laserda
plague look like a square dance".

Well, I think I would have liked both of them very much, if they would
not have been the sequences of Alien and Aliens. Errors such "How did
the eggs get on the Sulaco?" make me sick. And what I absolutely hate
in Alien: Resurrection is the fact that the Alien throws acid from its
mouth, but, just before, it has to kill his brother for its acid blood (I hope you
see what I mean, I don't really want to explain these scenes...). The
first time I've seen Alien: Resurrection, I liked it; but the more I
watch it, the more I hate it. On the other hand, the more I watch
Aliens, the more I love it. This script is one of the best I've ever
read (seen?)
But I dare say that the third is good,
except for the f****** impossibility for the eggs to be on board. And
I don't like the creature at the end of the fourth, but it's
personnal, it has nothing to do with the coherence (or non-coherence,
for this particular case...) of the script.

I agree..Alien Resurrection looked good and honestly, entertained me but the
more I watched it, the more it really got bad. And despite the weird dubbing
problem with Brad Doriff in the egg chamber, I liked the Newborn though it
just killing everything was pretty lame.

This very fact did puzzle me but not to the point of hating the film in a
treated-us-like-arse way. I take it as another of those mysteries that
surround the creature and take part in its elusive and unexpecting
behaviour.

It can fall short for some people because it defies the concrete reality
but that is my impression of the third film as a mystic installment. The
image of the dog barking at the egg and/or facehugger represents (IMO) the
ineluctability of the creature's presence. The eggs are there and we can't
explain why. I can live with that unlike most of the people here ;-)

In fact, it annoys me less than Golic's character being left out without any
reasons (whereas it is dealt with in the novel). I hope it will appear it
the longer version of A3.

I see what you mean but we can take it (i.e. the acid thrown) as a means of
defense, not as a deliberate way to escape from a place. They kill their
"brothers" because they need a hell of a lot acid to escape as quickly as
possible.

I've been through that as well but not to the point of hating it (I know,
I'm very indulgent ;-)) but it sure has the biggest flaws of the four. It
has its moments but some scenes are annoying.

It used to be my favorite for quite some time (before I discover the
magnificence of the first film). I like it because the story flows quite
well, the scenes follow on from each other in quite a natural way.

> But I dare say that the third is good,

That's my second favorite (quite far behind the first but still good), the
overall atmosphere (the way of filming from below, the music, the metallic
noises, the character's accent and speeches) is the main reason why I like
it.

"I tolerate everything. Even the intolerable" ;-)

I hate it because of the way it kills the Queen...

No possible controversy here because it is in an adjective position so it is
automatically singular... :-p

Not at all...

There are more than one of *us* therefore the singular is discounted....
IE.. It's cheaper !!!!!

;' )

"Bunch of arse." Yes.
"Us like arses" Yes
"Bunch of arses" also Yes.
"Us like arse" No... Unless one is talking about a groups propensity towards
a certain person's posterior.

Given that they were a band of pretty well-known (I'd assume given that the
army used them) pirates then going back to Earth would probably have landed
them in some pretty deep trouble with the authorities? Either that or there
probably isn't much work for intergalactic pirates there. ;)
