I imagine Gorilla Glue will work but I haven't tried it on Rycotes. Also perhaps
the solvent that's used to glue plexiglas or polystyrene [different solvents]. I
have a Rycote that's getting roadworn, I'll see if the solvents work on mine and
report back...

I've recently had the same problem, and contact glue didn't work.....but
super glue did..
It's held for over 3 weeks now.

I have had success with PVC pipe cement (solvent glue),
_kind of welds / melts the plastic.

I have successfully managed to rescue a couple of rycotes that was broken,
and after some experimenting with a couple glues, I have come to rely on
super epoxy and arm the broken place with some synthetic fiber. I sand the
area around the crack and apply the epoxy, then a take a piece of cloth cut
to the right size and let it be soaked in epoxy so that it will act as
reinforcement. Has worked really well, just make sure that you donšt get the
layer to thick, or it won't fit the handle as well as before.

Good luck!

Hi Eugene,

Yes plumbers PVC solvent will work but of course the joint will still be a
weak point. If say you are fixing the flat strut that runs along the
bottom of the shield it may not hold.

For fixing the plastic mesh into the ring of an end cap it would
work just like new.

Regards

Mike

You might try an industrial adhesive called E6000. It's one of the few glues that can stick to polyethylene and other slippery plastics.
