I have just purchased a HD850 player & connected it via component leads to
my projector.

However though my projector will go upto 1080p when i put 720p out I get a
4:3 image shifted to the left of screen & blank screen if I output 1080i.

If I use 768p I get full screen and great picture.

However my projector tells me it is a 520p signal.

I am a little confused.

is it because I am using component rather than HDMI connections ?

or is it some form of copy protection or incompatibility ?

any ideas

thanks

Robin..

I've got the same DVD player, have you disabled the HDCP and the region
coding on it..? If NOT then the upscaling should not work through the
componet outputs only the HDMI socket, otherwise I would say that your
player or projector is faulty..?!? As my plasma TV can display all modes
upto 1080i (abit they are downscaled by the TV..?? :( ) but in the correct
aspect ratio from my HD850.
