I am shooting some footage with Canon XL2. I always use a Tripod . I
do not understand why the shots get blurry and fuzzy when the subjects
move. It usually happens in close up shots. I turn auto exposure,
image stabalizer and auto focus off. My shots still get slightly blurry
when actors move. Any suggestion from XL2 users will be helpful.

Are you sure you are on a fully manual setting ? Some of the settings on the
dial ring don;t allow these funcs to be turned off.. Are you set on 'manual'
... I don't have an XL2 but I recall this being a small issue on the XL1

Experienced the same thing with my XL-1 even after complete servicing of the
lens by Canon factory. I would get around it most of the time while shooting
both my Vietnam War Movies (features) by holding down the "Push AF" button
on the lens locking it down the entire time I was shooting the scene and
this helped most of the time but even then while doing stunts the lens would
rack focus on its own any time the stunt players moved too fast. Pissed off
the stunt guys when I had to do another take. Only way around this seems to
be get a better lens and more patient stuntmen.

Good luck,

Steven Kahler

This is not a solution, but since you have a XL-2 as I have, I was wondering
if I shoot in 60i, why can I not change the 24 frames to 60 frames. I can
not seem to find the 60 frames in the menu. Am I all screwed up. I looked
at the manual, and nothing on shooting 60 frames. using 60i.

There's a switch on the side of the XL2; 60i, 30p, 24p.

I know that!....but when I use the 60i, I still get 24p on the menu and 60i
on my viewfinder, maybe that is normal?

Really! I'll have to look again at that.
