Hi,

I am having problems with using the wendt x5 and the zaxcom digital
wireless as I am picking up interference- the cable we are using is
becoming an antennae.
We were told to make a change to the cable by firstly coming in at
line level to the zaxcoms and secondly If I remember rightly we fused
two of the pins together on the xlr - regardless the suggested changes
have been made and I'm still experiencing problems.
Any suggestions- is there anything I can do to the mixer to guard it
against this- using the sd 442 I've never had this problem.
thanks
James

I had a lot of problems use the wendt 2 with zaxcom ( checked the wendt 4
and found the same problem), finally found that you have to go unbalance , I
run the minipl stereo mike out to the tx , that's working fine the other
problem until now cant share the same power for both , that's producing
allot of hum

James, try some ferrite chokes. If they're small diameter put a couple on at the
destination end of the cable; if they're larger, put a copule turns of cable
through. Sounds like you're getting RF on the shield. If that doesn't work you
may have to put capacitors from signal/ground inside the connectors. Since it
seems you're going to transmitters [and not coming from receivers] move the
transmitters further away from the mixer. Inverse square, not just a good idea,
its the law!

Best,
John
