Name this western - please!

This one is a bit tricky BUT......

Right-ho - here's the plot...

Clue one- it's a western and it was in colour.

The plot (roughly) A group of baddies kill a man's wife and daughter, and
he sets out to get revenge.

Little details are:

One of the baddies was a preacher / fake preacher and he was killed by being
trapped in brambles/ briars / thorns. All that was left was a skeleton
clutching a bible.

Another death was a baddy being hanged upside down in a stream and the hero
dammed the stream up so that the water rose over his head.

This is driving my parents MAD and they've been trying to remember the title
for 20 years.
