They seemed to be havng a perfectly normal / amicable / everyone
participating conversation just before Kane popped, though, didn't
they? Which is immediately after when the scope would have been for
them to have that discussion.

So why are you trying to "argue" that your opinion somehow makes for a better
speculation than ours?

Hence my usage of quotation marks. Your input in this thread could hardly be
called arguments, as opposed to ours.
> And As I said, *my* *deductions* are based on what we DEFINITELY know...
And in doing so, you have managed to make up things such as "the crew rarely
talk" even though we see them chit chat alot. Your 'deductions' are based on
just as much speculation as ours - they're just not as logical.
> Not extrapolated from no basis to adjust for sloppy scripting.
Oh please, Mr "Bishop in Alien 2 is definately a robot no doubt about it".
You're the master of extrapolation and you let your hatred towards Cameron come
in your way.

Because mine has basis.
From what we see, we KNOW that Kane never utters any such phrase.
That *alone* is more basis than... *But maybe he said....*
We also know that Dallas is a loner.
And that the cameras lost transmission etc etc etc...

Precisely. I remain civil... *Debate*.
Arguments are not.

Not at all..
The only *chit chat* we see is confined to Parker and Brett, and a VERY
brief dinner scene.
And Kane couldn;t have said anything *then* cos he didn't remember anythig
OF the derelict!
>> Not extrapolated from no basis to adjust for sloppy scripting.

I don;t remember ever saying such a thing.
What I *do* like doing is smiling hugely at the Eeeeevil Bishop theory.
And basing the laws of nature that a man with his face hanging off is
probably *not* human.
(And the fact that he's *credited* as bishop 2 of course)
> you let your hatred
> towards Cameron come in your way.
Now *there* is extrapolation.
(Although Bishop 2 has bu**er all to do with Cameron)

>Because mine has basis.
>From what we see, we KNOW that Kane never utters any such phrase.
No, we don't *know* that. The best we can say is "we know it's not
shown on screen".
In fact as far as the story arc of the Alien films goes, we know he
*did* say it, because he was cited as saying such by Ripley. Ripley
got the notion that there were "thousands of eggs there" *somehow*.
Yes, in real life, it was just bad continuity (which is, after all,
the point you're trying to make, but not doing such a good job of).
However in the *story*, we know two things:
1) Ripley knows there are thousands of eggs there.
2) There *are* thousands of eggs there.
It's a realistic supposition that she knows this due to finding out
somehow. And given we don't see it on-screen, I guess it happened off
screen.
>That *alone* is more basis than... *But maybe he said....*
No, it's not.
You're confusing the story and the process of filming of the story.
>We also know that Dallas is a loner.
No, we don't *know* that either.
>Not at all..
>The only *chit chat* we see is confined to Parker and Brett, and a VERY

I'll have to watch the scene again, but my impression was that Lambert
was definitely participating as well, and I thought someone else was
too.
>And Kane couldn;t have said anything *then* cos he didn't remember anythig
>OF the derelict!
Did Kane re-iterate this at the table, or was it in the medlab scene?
(I can't remember)
>> you let your hatred

Well you're never very objective when it comes to James "Jimmy's Ants"
Cameron.
(I'm not so different in that regard)

When does Kane get an opportunity to say it?
We are with him from descent to face hugging, and after the face hugging he
has no memory of the incident.
Ergo.. He didn;t say it.

I'm making a superb job of it. (Otherwise why are people still replying !!??
;' ))
That said.... *I*'m not the one trying to *defend* a, in your own words, bad
continuity error.

That's the thing Robert...
I DON'T hate Aliens!!!!
My entire gripe is making the *Perfect Organism* into just so many
*targets*.
And the total under carpet sweeping of the original LC that anyone who knew
anything about Alien, KNEW was the way they created the eggs.
However...
The between film concern of was Jones or Ripley impregnated...
It *was* something we discussed after the first film.
And yes, the dream sequence was interesting.. But it also showed that it
*would* have been possible to continue without Ripley. ;' ) After all, once
the shock of her being impregnated was passed, and as she was chestbursting
I was thinking.. Oooo.... Who's gonna go to the planet!!!!.. Not *Oh my God
they can't kill Ripley!*
(And I don;t think he ever made any references to the fact that Jones might
be impregnated.
Sigourney did in a pre release interview... "Is it gonna come out of her, is
it gonna come out of the cat...")
And as far as *bizarre lifecycles of creatures on earth are concerned...
Again... My *main* gripe is the way that the gainsayers now say the cocoon
LC is INVALID because jimmy made the queen. I FULLY agree that there is an
extreme possibility of TWO LCs in the one organism... Because, as I have SO
often stated... The creature is NOT of this place, "right here on Earth"..

Just as no one ever uses the toilet. Your narrowminded view on this poses more
limitations than you realize.

But as we know, that's not true - since no one ever SAYS he is a cyborg. Duh.
